Whidbey Island Area Fair Winner!

?

?

We had a great time at our booth at the Whidbey Island Area Fair this year. Lots of folks stopped by to chat or ask about the Island County real estate market. We had four days of fun and conversation with members of our community and visitors from off-island. This year we again gave out $50 gift certificates from local businesses to the winners of our daily drawings. Show here is Becky Brager, winner of a gift card to Sebos, and Joe Aernie, our broker in the Bayview office. We, at Coldwell Banker Tara Properties, offer congratulations to all of the winners!

Walkway Construction

pl1pl2Construction is ongoing to complete the ‘Freeland Trail’ section of the Whidbey Island public walkway in front of the Coldwell Banker Tara Properties’ Freeland office. This is part of the ‘Bridge to Boat Trail’, eventually extending from Deception Pass Bridge down to the Clinton Ferry. The workers are doing an excellent job and trying to keep maximum access to the parking lot. Not an easy task for all that they’re doing. We understand that paving will be early next week. It should be a wonderful section of the walkway.

Get Ready for Vacation

beachatsunsetA great article from RISMedia about preparing your home for your vacation. Briefly–

–Clean up – empty the frig, take out the trash, do laundry, run the garbage disposal

–Close out – weatherize, unplug small appliances, check smoke detectors, leave closet doors open

–Secure – collect spare keys from around the home, hold mail & newspapers, close blinds, ask a neighbor to check your house occasionally.

For a full list of ‘to-do’s and further details, go to How To Prepare Your Home Before Going on Vacation.

And, if you’re vacationing on Whidbey Island and find that you really want to live here, stop by the local Coldwell Banker Tara Properties office and talk to one of our Real Estate Brokers. We’re happy to help.
