marathonThe Whidbey Island Marathon will happen this year on April 22. The race is considered one of the Pacific Northwest’s hidden athletic gems and a must do destination race for running enthusiasts. Starting at the Deception Pass Bridge, the marathon course winds through ocean side roadways, farmland and more while featuring waterfront coastlines, snow-capped mountains and more. The race features a full marathon, half marathon, 10K Run/Walk, Family 5K and a Kids 1K Run. Walkway Construction

pl1pl2Construction is ongoing to complete the ‘Freeland Trail’ section of the Whidbey Island public walkway in front of the Coldwell Banker Tara Properties’ Freeland office. This is part of the ‘Bridge to Boat Trail’, eventually extending from Deception Pass Bridge down to the Clinton Ferry. The workers are doing an excellent job and trying to keep maximum access to the parking lot. Not an easy task for all that they’re doing. We understand that paving will be early next week. It should be a wonderful section of the walkway.
