Langley’s Chocolate Flower Farm in Martha Stewart Living

Chocolate Flower Farm Gift Store on First Street in Langley

Langley’s own Chocolate Flower Farm is featured in the Garden Section of Martha Stewart Living magazine for October. Owner Marie Lincoln features brown and dark-hued flowers at her farm just outside of town and features ‘Home, Garden and Gifts with a Chocolate Twist’ at her store on First Street in downtown Langley. (Her chocolate and raspberry jam is exquisite!) Check out her online store and read about her farm and store on her website at Chocolate Flower Farm and pick up a copy of Martha Stewart Living (October issue).

Spring is Coming to Whidbey Island

Participants and visitors to Mystery Weekend in Langley were treated to chilly, wet weather. This didn’t dampen spirits at all and the weekend was a success all around – especially for the shop owners that provided shelter from the inclement weather. This week, especially Wednesday, we got a peek of what our upcoming spring will look like – balmy, sunny, and warm (kind of). It was just to wet our whistle, however, since the days are back to cloudy with chance of rain through the weekend. We’re encouraged, though. We’ve seen what is to come!

Mystery Weekend in Langley

Don’t forget that the last weekend in February is Mystery Weekend in Langley (Feb. 22/23). This is the event’s 30th anniversary and the theme is the “Deadly Deed”. From the South Whidbey Record: “After a handsome stranger visits town to claim his inheritance and is found dead, the people of Langley search to find who has committed the deadly deed. The story unfolds and many characters are revealed to have an interest in the stranger’s inheritance.” To find out more about the story and how you can get involved in solving the mystery, check out the Record’s article at http://www.southwhidbeyrecord.com/entertainment/245603701.html

The Community Fund at Work

Coldwell Banker Tara Properties Community FundGail Pierce presents a $500 Coldwell Banker Tara Community fund check to Frankie, the HUB manager and ‘Mugsy’.  The HUB has provided an after school drop-in center for South Whidbey Island teens for twenty years. They recently reinvented themselves when their grant funding evaporated and they must now rely on community support to provide this safe place for teens to gather after school with food, supervision, and activities. The HUB has been open 5 days a week since school started this fall!

The HUB is a ‘spooktacular’ place to hang out-they are really decked out for Halloween!  Drop in to see it if you’re in Langley about the time school lets out-they welcome volunteers and donations.
