Whidbey Island Home Inventory

Here is a chart of the active residential listing inventory on Whidbey Island for the past year. As you can see, the inventory is dropping – a usual happening during the winter months. But interest rates are really low now and it’s time to consider finding your new home while there are still choices available. Your Coldwell Banker Tara Properties broker can help you locate your perfect new home.

Getting Ready for our Whidbey Island Winter

The mornings are chilly, it’s getting darker earlier in the evening, the grass (finally!) doesn’t need to be mowed. Summer’s almost over and we’re heading into fall. Lots of us are starting to do a little bit of winterization in anticipation of a wet and, possibly, snowy winter. Stocking up on firewood, cleaning gutters, pressure washing the deck and steps, getting the last bits from our garden, and cleaning up the yard. House Logic has a great article on keeping your roof in ‘tip-top’ condition. Tasks include cleaning the gutter, removing leaves and moss from the roof, and trimming overhanging tree limbs. All good things to do before winter. Here’s the full article.

Whidbey Island Fair Volunteers

Robin Edgeman, Carol Gannaway & Deborah Jones

Deborah Jones (right), a broker in the Freeland office of Coldwell Banker Tara Propertes, and Robin Edgeman (left and behind a bit) help their good friend Carol Gannaway (center) prepare the ribbons for the parade winners at the Whidbey Island Area Fair. Carol has been in charge of the parade for several years. It takes hours of her time to prepare and coordinate the numberous volunteers to make the parade a success. Way to go Carol and all those that helped!

Coldwell Banker Tara Properties is a Winner!

The Winning Entry

From the Good Cheer blog—-The winner of the 2011 Deck the Doors contest was Coldwell Banker Tara Properties on Second Street in Langley. Janet Ploof from the Main Street Association said that the $960 donation to the food bank  from this year’s winner was significant and that  “a sizable portion of the donation came from the individual real estate agents in their office, their door was cool, a wreath made of house keys, decorated miniature doors and blue prints! Some of the agents were born on Whidbey Island, and all of the agents are super supporters of Langley…..they rock!”

Great job everyone (especially Kim Kramer and Gail Pierce)!

Langley’s Deck the Door Contest

Fun at the Island County Fair

For as long as I can remember, Coldwell Banker Tara Properties has had a booth at the annual Island County Fair. We get a chance to meet with old and new friends, give away chances to win prizes, and help folks if they’re interested in buying or selling property. Agents from all 3 of our offices spend time renewing acquaintances and getting to know off-island visitors. Our booth always features lots of flyers and information on the properties currently on the market and this year we featured 2 builders and their projects: Seattle Pacific Homes and their 4 projects on the north of the Island and Langley Builders with The Highlands project in Langley. Thanks to Cynthia Bangston for the pano photo of our booth (not quite in the finished stage).
